Maldives Polytechnic to Host Skill Fest 2025 Celebrating 50 Years of Vocational Education
Maldives Polytechnic is proud to announce the upcoming Skill Fest 2025, a three-day event set to take place from October 29 to 31 at the institute’s Malé campus. The event marks a major milestone—50 years of vocational education in the Maldives—and will serve as a national celebration of skills, innovation, and technical training.
Established on April 12, 2010, by Presidential Decree under Article 116 of the Constitution of the Maldives, Maldives Polytechnic is the country's premier institution for technical and vocational education and training (TVET). Operating under the Maldives Qualification Framework (MNQF), the institution is committed to delivering industry-relevant, skill-based education that meets the needs of the nation’s workforce and economy.
Showcasing Skills and Innovation
Skill Fest 2025 promises to be a dynamic, hands-on showcase of the broad range of vocational skills taught at Maldives Polytechnic. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore live demonstrations and interactive exhibits, including:
Machining & CNC
Marine & Automotive Engineering
Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
Mechatronics & Robotics, 3D Printing & Robot Soccer
Welding & Sheet Metal Work
Jewelry Making, Photography & Fashion Design
Cake Decoration, Architecture & Maldivian Handicrafts
The festival will also feature photo booths and creative arts displays, allowing attendees to engage with the work of current students and instructors.

October 29: Opening Ceremony from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Public visiting hours: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM
October 30: Open to public from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM, and 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM
October 31: Open to public from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM
The event is open to the public during designated times, offering a valuable opportunity for students, parents, industry partners, and community members to engage directly with vocational education in action.
Looking Ahead: Course Announcements for January 2026
As part of the Skill Fest, Maldives Polytechnic will also announce its upcoming training programs for January 2026. These include:
Certificate I – III Programs (MNQF Levels 1–3)
Short-term (1–6 months) training in areas like Automotive Maintenance, IT Support, Woodworking, Hospitality, and Renewable Energy.
Advanced Certificate Programs (MNQF Level 4)
12–18 month industry-specific programs in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, Electrical Systems, Programming, and more.
Diploma Programs (MNQF Level 5)
12–24 month programs focusing on advanced theoretical and practical knowledge in Architecture, Web Development, and Business Management.
