Celebrating 50 Years of Technical and Vocational Education in the Maldives

Today marks a historic milestone as the Maldives celebrates the Golden Jubilee of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET)—50 years of transforming lives and building a skilled nation.

Since its establishment in 1975, TVET has been instrumental in equipping generations of Maldivians with practical skills and technical expertise, contributing significantly to the nation's socio-economic development. What began as a vision to create a self-reliant workforce has evolved into a comprehensive education system that continues to shape the future of our country.

At a special ceremony commemorating this momentous occasion, Dr. Maryam Mariya, Minister of Agriculture and Animal Welfare, graced the event and officially launched a commemorative song dedicated to TVET—a tribute to five decades of excellence, innovation, and service to the nation.
