Maldives Polytechnic started the first batch of Plumbing

Maldives Polytechnic held an orientation for the first batch of National Certificate 3 in Plumbing today. 


The duration of the course is 6 months and students will get a stipend of 2000 MVR each month. Students were given a briefing on the course as well as the resources and student support services available at Maldives Polytechnic throughout the session.


While speaking at the session, the CEO of Maldives Polytechnic, Ahmed Nasir, stated that water and sewerage are extremely important factors in the Maldives, and in other countries, plumbing is done within a particular framework and a license. Furthermore, he added that plumbing is one of the highest-paying jobs in the Asia region.


This course is conducted under the "Skills for a Resilient Workforce" program initiated by the Ministry of Higher Education in collaboration with Maldives Polytechnic, TVET Authority, and the MEERY Project of the World Bank. Therefore, the financial assistance for this course is provided by the MEERY project.


The materials needed for the course were provided by the Ministry of Environment Climate Change and Technology.
